About Anchor Home Care Process
What is the process for hiring AHCS ? Do I have to sign a contract locking me into services?

Our mission at AHCS is to ensure the safety of your loved ones and simplify your life. We follow a 3-step process to achieve this:

  • Contact Us: You can reach us by calling 941-445-7670 or emailing us atcontact@anchorsarasota.com
  • Initial Assessment via Phone or Video Call: The initial assessment is a crucial information-gathering session that lays the foundation for our collaboration. Here's how it works:
    Mutual Understanding:
    • We will inquire about your needs, preferences, and any specific requirements you may have.
    • At the same time, we will provide detailed information about our company's operations.
    Open Dialogue:
    • We understand that you may have questions and concerns.
    • Rest assured, we are committed to patiently and thoroughly addressing all your queries.
  • In-Person Meeting: We will arrange to meet you or the decision-maker in person to discuss the service terms and start date. Once you agree, a contract will be signed outlining the terms of service. It's important to note that this contract is non-binding, and either party can terminate the agreement at any time.
Is the company licensed?

Yes, we are a licensed Home Health Agency in Southwest Florida including Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee, and Sarasota County.

When things go wrong, what can I expect from AHCS?

The best part about working with our agency is that we are always here for you. If things go wrong, ACHS will be by your side to find an immediate and acceptable solution, just give us a call.

Can home care services assist those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia?

Home care is an essential component in managing these diseases at home. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, around 70 percent of individuals with dementia or cognitive impairment reside at home. Remaining in familiar surroundings with friends, family, and established routines is crucial for those affected by Alzheimer’s and Dementia. AHCS services, in collaboration with family caregivers and a client’s physician, facilitate balance and consistency in the management of Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Does AHCS Provide 24-hour care? Can I call the AHCS office after hours?

Yes, and Yes.

About Billing
What forms of payment do you accept? When does billing happen?

The majority of our clients opt for private payment, but we are open to accepting various other forms of payment, including Long-Term Care Insurance, Veterans Benefits, and more. For our private pay clients, we accept payments via check, e-check, and wire transfers. Additionally, credit card payments are accepted, although a 3% transaction fee is applied to cover bank charges.

Am I able to review my invoice before payment is processed?

Yes. AHCS will send you the invoices before processing payment if the client would like to review it beforehand.

How will I receive my invoice and how do I update my billing information?

Invoices can be received by email, paper mail, or both. Send the updated billing information to contact@achorsarasota.com or call 941-445-7670 to update.

Is there a minimum number of hours/visits required?

Anchor Home Care services are available for a minimum of 4 hours per shift. This minimum duration is set because it can be challenging to find caregivers willing to work shifts shorter than 4 hours. Smaller shifts often result in a higher turnover rate among caregivers and a greater likelihood of missed appointments. Longer shifts are beneficial for both my clients and caregivers, promoting continuity of care and a more stable caregiving experience.

Does Close to Home Caregivers charge extra for holidays?

Certainly. AHCS applies a rate of 1.5 times the agreed-upon rate for services during major holidays. This follows legal requirements to pay time and a half to employees working on such holidays, and this additional cost is passed on to you. Additionally, the day before several major holidays is also charged at a rate of time and a half for our caregivers. These holidays include New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

About Home Health Aid/Certified Nursing Assistant
How does the company ensure I am getting the best quality service from my caregiver?

All caregivers are screened thoroughly to determine the quality of their work. Director of Operations stays in contact with active workers and the clients weekly. If any issues were to arise, they are handled immediately.

How are the caregivers selected?

Anchor Home Care is dedicated to delivering top-notch care by carefully choosing caregivers who exhibit high character and a pleasant demeanor, hiring only a small fraction of all applicants.

Can I meet the caregivers before their 1st scheduled shift?

Absolutely. In most situations, a caregiver will show up to your home, meet you, and be trained on your specific wants/needs (by a caregiver who knows you well) prior to their 1st shift with you.

What happens if I don't like my caregiver?

Unfortunately, sometimes personalities clash. If you decide you do not like your caregiver, we will gladly find another caregiver who we believe would be a good fit for you.

What happens if a caregiver doesn't show up because of an emergency?

Ensuring your safety is our top priority, and we guarantee that your loved one will not be left alone. If a caregiver is unable to show up unexpectedly, another caregiver will be promptly sent over.
